hey everyone come look at this snake. oh don’t worry it’s only a little bit deadly. We’ll just keep it here at the campsite all night and that will be perfectly fine.
I’ve been in the Sumatran jungle for a week and it’s been fucking incredible. After the absolute disaster it took to get here involving being the only tourists on the outskirts of a heavily muslim city when we can’t speak the language and nobody can speak english and everyone hates us for being white and slutty. Everything was worth it. We’ve seen wild orangutans and the craziest bunch of animals and got high with the coolest people camping in the wild sumatran jungle. How could anything even get any better than that. I start my long and drawn out journey home at the wee hours of the morning tomorrow.I’m excited to be home and start working towards doing what I love.I’m coming back to asia next year to live and work at animal rescue centres and shelters in Thailand for 6 months and then travel around after that. I think I will prefer being on my own purely because I won’t have anyone that I have to look after but myself. I’m getting to the point that I’m sick of looking out for and organizing shit for other people when they just take advantage of that.

time for an update. I won’t be doing this much because hopefully I will have better things to do and I’ll just post photos instead but this place is pretty quiet tonight so yeah.
at the moment I am on an island called gili air, just north of lombok in Indonesia. It’s a pretty incredible place, I have never seen such amazing reefs so close to the shore.
I can literally wander down to the beach and get into the water and be floating above the most incredible reef in the world. The people on the Gili islands are incredible. Everyone is so laid back and friendly they make you feel so comfortable in a foreign place. Especially after coming from a place like Kuta where I had a whole family throwing things and swearing at me just because my friend tried something on and then didn’t buy it.
We went the long way here because we are poor and it took us about 12 hours to get from Kuta to Gili Trawangan instead of two hours on the fast boat. We thought it would be a great idea to go out the night before and we ended up meeting some really fun people and having a pool party so I didn’t sleep at all. Lets just say that a hangover and lack of sleep on a 5 hour ferry ride is never a good choice.
In short, I’ve seen lots of turtles, met lots of new friends and eaten lots of mushrooms and I’m having the greatest time ever.
I just wish nick was here right now because a creepy meth head Indo dude is giving me the eyes from the other side of this internet cafe. I think that’s my cue to leave
